Most monitoring programmes end at a web page full of readings. Everything that turns those readings into a decision happens somewhere else, by hand, and has to be rebuilt from scratch the next time somebody asks.

The data lands in a spreadsheet

Every infiltration study starts with an export, a pivot table and a week of somebody's time. The working is in a file on one person's laptop, and the next study starts again from zero.

The numbers cannot be defended

When an engineer asks how a volume was totalled, or which storms a model was fitted against, the honest answer is often that nobody recorded it. That is fatal in a business case.

You find out afterwards

A blocked reach, a flat battery or a fortnight of missing record usually announces itself through an overflow, a complaint or a report that has already gone out wrong.

How it fits together

Each stage reads the stage before it. The volume in the board paper traces straight back to the reading that produced it, and you can follow it the whole way without leaving the platform.

Flagship

The infiltration heat map, painted on the real network.

Straight line interpolation between gauges spreads severity across roads, parks and catchment boundaries that water never crosses. FlowSense paints severity onto the actual gravity sewer network instead, by catchment and by flow direction, so a reach is coloured by what genuinely drains to the meter that measured it.

A kriging engine carries a confidence overlay from 0 to 1 across the whole surface, so the map shows you not only the estimate but how much of it to trust. Where flows in upstream pipes are inferred from the downstream meter, they are labelled as a calibrated estimate, never as a measurement.

Exports as GeoJSON, CSV, JPG and a formatted A4 report. We integrate with your own GIS network data as part of setup.

Integrity

Real field timestamps, always

A reading keeps the time the instrument recorded it, never the time the platform collected it. A record with no trustworthy timestamp is skipped rather than guessed at, and a partial batch never lands.

Validation

Synthetic readings rejected on arrival

A reading stamped "as of now" looks like healthy data and silently masks an outage. FlowSense refuses them at the door, so a quiet site reads as quiet.

Method

Volumes totalled the way you total them

Daily volumes are the average flow for each local day multiplied by 86,400 seconds, summed, with partial days at each edge prorated. It matches the spreadsheet your own team already keeps.

Verification

Every storm scored separately

A whole of series score can look respectable while the model misses every peak, because dry stretches dominate it. Each storm is scored on its own against the acceptance bands consulting practice uses, and three assessable storms is the minimum for a verified result.

Honesty

A thin window says it was thin

Every run carries a data adequacy report: storm count, record coverage and the dry days behind the baseline. A fortnight too wet to judge is reported as "not enough dry weather", not as "normal".

Recovery

Gaps get repaired, not inherited

When a site goes quiet, the window is found and repaired, so an outage does not leave a permanent hole in the record. This is the class of gap that never fills itself in, and that nobody notices until a report is already wrong.
