Auditing & Calibration

Audits and calibration of your monitoring equipment where it is installed, by experienced EDS technicians, so your data holds up.

At a glance

  • Open and closed channelFlow meters, level sensors and loggers
  • AnalyticalpH, EC, turbidity and nutrient analysers
  • In situAudited and calibrated where it is installed
  • A record of findingsAdjustments and recommendations documented

An instrument that has drifted costs you twice: once in readings you can’t trust, and again in the decisions made on them. EDS service technicians audit and calibrate monitoring equipment where it’s installed, across closed channel, open channel, quantity and analytical instruments.

We’ve worked with most of the monitoring technologies available, so we know how each one drifts and how to put it right.

Calibration is what keeps a long record trustworthy. EDS has calibrated long term sewer flow gauges across multiple Yarra Valley Water sites, so the data stays reliable for hydraulic modelling and infrastructure planning.

A site visit: barriers up, the manhole open, and the instrument checked against a reference measurement where it is installed.

What we audit and calibrate

Open channel flowArea velocity flow meters, level sensors and loggers in sewers, drains and channels.
Closed channel flowMagnetic, ultrasonic and other full pipe meters, measuring and totalising flow.
QuantityLevel, pressure and rainfall instruments, and the loggers that record them.
AnalyticalpH, EC, turbidity and multi-parameter sensors, and nutrient analysers.

What an audit covers

  • The site: its hydraulics, access, and the condition of the installation
  • The instrument’s readings against an independent reference measurement
  • For flow meters, the relationship between depth and velocity
  • The logger, power supply and telemetry, so readings keep reaching you
  • A record of findings, adjustments and recommendations

Why it matters

  • Defensible data

Readings that hold up in a model, a compliance report or a capital works decision.

  • Problems found early

A drifting sensor or a fouled site found at the audit, not months later in the data.
