Rehabilitation & Works Verification

Before and after flow monitoring that shows whether relining, cleaning and repair works delivered what was paid for.

Rehabilitation is a large investment, and flow data is the most direct way to show it worked. EDS monitors before and after relining, cleaning and repair programs, so the change in the network is measured rather than assumed.

After a cleaning and relining program in one coastal network, flow profiles recorded by EDS showed the network back to its baseline hydraulic behaviour within 24 hours, confirming the works had restored full capacity.

Utilities increasingly use these before and after comparisons to verify contractor performance, reducing disputes and improving accountability across maintenance programs.

A before and after approach

  1. Baseline monitoring before works begin
  2. Rainfall recorded alongside flow, so wet weather response before and after can be compared
  3. Monitoring through and after the works
  4. Depth, flow and wet weather response compared against the baseline
  5. A report that documents the outcome for asset and planning teams

What it tells you

Whether capacity was restoredFlow profiles show the network returning to baseline hydraulic behaviour.
Whether infiltration fellLess depth and flow variation during rainfall confirms the rehabilitation reduced infiltration.
Whether the model was rightMeasured results confirm, or correct, the improvements the model predicted.
Where to spend nextLong term monitoring validates past interventions and guides the next round of investment.

How a program runs

From the first call to data you can act on.

  1. 01

    Scope and site selection

Agree what the data has to answer, then choose sites by their hydraulics, not their convenience.

  2. 02

    Install and commission

Trained EDS crews install intrinsically safe instruments, Australia wide, and check every site before it goes live.

  3. 03

    Monitor and validate

Readings arrive over 4G into FlowSense, with continuous QA/QC and alarms when something changes.

  4. 04

    Report and recommend

Validated data and a report that shows where the problems are and what to fix first, or a feed into your model by API.
