Telemetry is in EDS’s roots. Before founding EDS, Graham Harper started Elpro, now one of the world’s largest SCADA suppliers.

Our monitoring equipment works with leading SCADA architectures including ClearSCADA, Schneider CITECT and ELPRO. Data can also reach your systems from our platform by API, and real-time analytical sensors can be integrated into new or existing building management systems.

From FlowSense to your systems

Validated data can flow back out of EDS FlowSense to the SCADA, historian or reporting tools your teams already use.

  • Scheduled files

    CSV files delivered to your server over SFTP or FTPS, for SCADA file importers and historians.

  • MQTT

    Messages to your broker as JSON or CSV. The closest thing to live.

  • Read API

    Pulled over HTTPS on your own schedule, into tools such as Power BI, Excel, Grafana or ArcGIS. Read only, except that a key can be granted one write operation: recording what a crew found on a work order.

  • Webhooks

    Signed messages posted when an alarm is raised or cleared, a forecast puts a site at risk, or Blockage Watch flags a blockage.

Common questions

Does anything need to be installed on our SCADA?

No. There is no agent, connector or gateway to install. OPC UA, DNP3 and Modbus are not touched in either direction, and there is no control path into your systems.

Are the readings changed on the way?

No. Values are sent exactly as stored, with no gap filling and no smoothing. A missing reading is left blank rather than estimated.

How long does a connection take to commission?

Usually an afternoon. Each connection is commissioned with you, and is not called done until a reading has arrived and been checked.

Is there a charge for the feeds?

No. Feeds, the API and webhooks cost nothing extra with a FlowSense subscription.
