Data Analysis & Reporting

Validated flow, depth and rainfall data turned into reports that show where the problems are and what to fix first.

Data is only valuable if it leads to a decision. EDS validates the data it collects and turns it into reports that are easy to interpret, supporting planning, investment and regulatory compliance.

Our data validation processes are ISO compliant. Readings are checked continuously and, where it matters, cross-checked against SCADA pump station records and field inspections to verify anomalies.

In EDS's experience, about 20% of a sewer network typically accounts for 80% of its inflow and infiltration. Good analysis finds that 20%, so rehabilitation goes where it pays back.

What we deliver

Continuous QA/QCData validated as it arrives, with calibration checks and remote telemetry throughout the program.
Rainfall dependent I&I analysisInflow separated from infiltration using on-site rain gauges and historical climate data.
Prioritised remediation plansSubcatchments ranked by contribution, with cost benefit analyses and a phased program of works.
Asset condition insightsShifts in the depth to velocity relationship that point to blockages, sediment and structural defects.
Cross connection detectionDry weather flow signatures that reveal illegal discharges and stormwater tied into the sewer.
Full access to your dataThrough FlowSense, or by API into your own systems.

From an EDS project

Three subcatchments, 65% of the I&IA regional council engaged EDS ahead of a treatment plant upgrade. Twenty short term flow meters and on-site rain gauges showed where the water was coming from.
A $6M expansion avoidedThe evidence let the council redirect capital into relining, manhole sealing and inflow source reduction.
Peak wet weather flows down 35%Targeted rehabilitation delivered the reduction within two years.

Results from the field

24 h for the network to return to baseline

After a cleaning and relining program, flow profiles recorded by EDS showed the network back to its baseline hydraulic behaviour within a day, confirming the works had restored full capacity.
