Sewer Flow Data as a Service

Sewer flow monitoring with no capital outlay. EDS supplies, installs and looks after the equipment, and you get validated data.

At a glance

  • 99.95% data availabilityA managed fleet with continuous oversight
  • No capital outlayEDS selects the sites, installs and maintains the equipment
  • Detectronic MSFM AV metersIntrinsically safe, with integrated 4G
  • Real-time alertsKnow about a change when it happens

With Data as a Service you don’t buy flow meters, you buy the answers. EDS chooses the sites, installs and maintains the equipment, validates the data continuously and delivers insight you can act on. You pay for data you can rely on, with no capital outlay and nothing to own.

EDS has been putting flow meters into Australian sewers for more than three decades. With DaaS, EDS answers for the data, not just the equipment.

The instruments behind it

EDS runs these instruments in its own monitoring fleet, so the advice you get comes from people who install them.

Detectronic MSFM area velocity flow meterThe MSFM S2.5T measures velocity from 0.03 to 4.00 m/s and depth to 3.5 m, logging every 1 to 60 minutes, with more than 15 weeks on one battery at 2 minute logging.
Certified for Zone 0Intrinsically safe under ATEX and IECEx, the most hazardous classification, for live sewers.
Integrated 4G into FlowSenseReadings arrive as they are taken, with alarms by email and SMS when something changes, or by API into your own systems.

Common questions

Is there any capital outlay?

No. EDS supplies, installs and maintains the monitoring equipment, so there is nothing to purchase. You pay for validated data and the insight that comes with it.

What data availability can we expect?

EDS DaaS is delivered with 99.95% data availability, from a managed fleet with continuous oversight, continuous calibration and real-time alerts.

How do we see the data?

In EDS FlowSense, with alarms by email and SMS when something changes, or by API into your own systems.

How is DaaS different from buying a monitoring program?

With DaaS, EDS answers for the data, not just the equipment. Hydraulic site selection, continuous QA/QC, verification of the depth to velocity relationship and ongoing maintenance are all part of the service.
